Mary Schaeffer is the Controller for Knapp Properties, Inc.

 

After earning her Business Administration Degree in Finance with an emphasis in real estate from Iowa State University, she began her career with Coldwell Banker at their corporate headquarters in Los Angeles. In 1989, she assisted with the start up of Excel Management Company in Beverly Hills, CA. 

 

In 1994, Mary moved back to Iowa and joined Knapp Properties in various roles including Accounting and Risk Manager.  In November of 2010 Mary accepted her most recent position as Controller.  She currently manages the accounting department while working closely with clients to address their specific accounting and insurance needs.  Mary utilizes her insurance expertise in all aspects of operational insurance for Knapp Properties and clients.

 

Mary coordinates Knapp Properties’ United Way Campaign. She is actively involved in her church, Friends of Fine Arts and volunteers for several organizations. Mary and her husband James live in Grimes, they have three children.
