Matt Anderson

Matt is the Vice President of Asset Management for Knapp Properties, Inc. His responsibilities include supervising brokerage and marketing operations, analyzing and evaluating portfolio performance, and overseeing asset acquisition and disposition. After earning a BA in finance with an emphasis in real estate from the University of Northern Iowa in 1988, Matt joined Cedar Rapids real estate development firm Creative Resources, Inc. and was quickly promoted to Director of Development.  Upon returning to his hometown of Des Moines in 1992, Matt united with William C. Knapp II for the first time at AmerUs Properties, Inc. as Asset Manager and later Senior Asset Manager. His responsibilities at AmerUs included oversight of over 40 multifamily, hotel, office, and retail properties in 8 states. In 2002, Matt joined the City of Des Moines’ Office of Economic Development and was selected to oversee that department in 2006. Matt’s 9 years at the City saw a period of unprecedented economic growth downtown and in the city’s neighborhood commercial areas. Matt currently serves as a Board member for Neighborhood Development Corporation (Treasurer), Greater Des Moines Partnership – Regional Economic Development, Operation Downtown, and Des Moines Area Regional Transit.
