Knapp Properties Donate 10 Acres for Northwest YMCA

Thanks to the generosity of Bill Knapp and Knapp Properties, the YMCA of Greater Des Moines received a 10-acre land donation located at the corner of Iowas Hightway 141 and Iowa Highway 44.  The Northwest YMCA will primarily serve the communities of Dallas Center, Granger, Grimes, Johnston, Polk City and Urbandale.  YMCA will begin offering services to this area Jan. 7 at the Northwest YMCA Grimes Program Center, 401 Main St. in Grimes. 

Applications for employment are now being accepted at www.dmymca.org, and an official grand opening of the program center will be from 8a.m. to noon Jan. 19
