Welcome to the Tournament Club of
Iowa Central Iowa's newest and most exciting residential golf
community. Nestled in the wooded, rolling terrain near Big Creek Reservoir, The
Tournament Club of Iowa combines the peaceful beauty and spectacular views of
country living with a casual recreational lifestyle. Golfing, hiking, biking,
swimming, sailing, and fishing are just a few of the activities awaiting
you
right outside your front door.
History in the
Making Tournament Club of Iowa
promises to be a premier residential community as well as golf venue of
national prominence. It combines the development knowledge of two prominent
Midwestern firms - Knapp Properties Inc. (KPI) of West Des Moines and Enebak
Construction of the Twin Cities and its golf affiliate, Tradition Development.
Working together, Knapp and
Enebak have created a vision for a residential golf community that appeals to
growing families as well as empty nesters and career-minded up and comers. Home
sites are being developed in a wide range of shapes and sizes - from executive
lots to townhomes. You can have a view of the fairway or build in the seclusion
of a scenic timbered lot.
The Development Team
In showcasing this
development, KPI draws on 50 years of real estate expertise and a penchant for
quality, vision and integrity. As one of the state's largest residential and
commercial developers, KPI takes great care to ensure that every aspect of
every project is well-planned and meets the highest standards for developmental
protocol, quality of life, and environmental balance. KPI professionals have
been involved in successful residential communities throughout Greater Des
Moines, including Country Club in Clive, West Lakes in West Des Moines, Napa
Valley in Dallas County and Timberline in Urbandale. These projects played a
significant role in the growth and expansion of Greater Des Moines, adding
thousands of new homes as well as retail and commercial development.
By teaming with Enebak and
Tradition, KPI introduces a respected, three-generation earthwork contractor
and development expert to Central Iowa. The company has a resume that features
the preparation of more than 20,000 residential lots and the construction of
several tournament-rated golf courses during the past 25 years. Like KPI,
Eneback and Tradition work with the best names in the business, including
Arnold Palmer, whose development company is designing Tournament Club of Iowa.
A Signature
Course
As an Arnold Palmer Signature Course, Tournament Club of Iowa
is designed to be
challenging, yet appealing to a wide cross-section of golfers, the course winds
through gently rolling hills, dramatic bluffs and punctuating timberlands. Big
Creek already meanders through the 500-acre golf and residential site, and
several new lakes will be added to enhance the layout of the course. The golf
course and the residential community will maintain separate roadways, avoiding
mixed traffic and other inconveniences.
Country in the
City Polk City, home of
Tournament Club of Iowa, is Central Iowa's city by the lakes. Bordered by
Saylorville Lake and the Big Creek Reservoir, Polk City offers the charm and
intimacy of small town life, complete with an historic town square.
For all of its ambiance, however, Polk City
remains close to the hub of activity with travel times to downtown and the
western suburbs ranging from only 15 to 25 minutes. Located between Ames and
Des Moines, Polk City offers a balance for commuting families looking to reduce
their stress and drive times. A newly constructed
access ramp from Highway 141 reduces the time it takes to get to and from
the western suburbs and neighboring communities, while a paved road from the
Elkhart exit on Interstate 35 provides a direct route to Polk City and the
lakes. Polk City is part of
North Polk Schools. Though small, North Polk consistently scores above the
state average on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills. In recent years, several
families from neighboring districts have opted for open enrollment to take
advantage of North Polk's smaller class sizes, more personalized attention and
extra-curricular activities.
